Wide spread rains with snowfall over the hills continued in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, NWFP and Northern Balochistan for third consecutive day. According to data released by the Met Office here on Wednesday evening, chief amounts Rainfall (mm) during last 24 hrs was as under:
Murree=59, Garidupata=48, Rawalakot=42, Abbotabad=41, Malamjaba=41, Balakot=36, Muzaffarabad=32, Dir=29, Saidusharif=26, Islamabad=25, Rawalpindi=25, Dir 29, Saidu Sharif 26, Islamabad 25, Rawalpindi 25, Pattan=23, Drosh=21, Peshawar=19, Attock=19, Kotli=19, Kohat=18, Parachinar 17, Chitral 13 and Jhelum 11.
Three days of rains have increased water inflows in the Rivers Indus, Jhelum, Kabul and Chenab by about 18,000 cusecs. The inflow of water in River Indus at Tarbela on Wednesday was 22,200 cusecs up from 15,000 cusecs last week, in river Kabul 12,900 cusecs, River Jhelum 8355 and river Chenab 6253 cusecs.
Met office forecast for next 24 hours: Rain with snowfall, at times heavy over the hills, at scattered places in Kashmir, Upper Punjab including Islamabad and NWFP.
