The spell of snowfall and rain here continued dipping the mercury further down, while the road links with other parts of the country still remained severed due to the Lowari Top blockade.
Chitral hit by snowfall all the night received 2.5 feet snow, Ziarat 6 feet and bordering areas 4 feet of snow, while on the Lowari Top over 10 feet of snowfall recorded, a private TV channel reported.
Relief measures including the clearing of the piles of snow from the main markets and the streets of the city by employing tractors is in progress, while Chitral-Daroosh highway has been cleared of the snow and traffic restored, however, the links with the other areas of Chitral still remains severed, which included Chitral-Garm Chashma Road, Chitral-Torco Road, Chitral-Mastuj Road and several others. The citizens confined to their houses due to shivering cold.
