Wasa prepares contingency plan for Muharram

The Managing Director Wasa Hyderabad, Bashir Ahmed Awan, said a contingency plan has been prepared to ensure smooth supply of potable water and solve sewerage problems during the holy month of Muharram.
Under the plan normal pumping hours have been enhanced and water would be supplied to those areas facing water scarcity, while a complaint centre at Thandi Sarak Pumping Station established, he said in a statement.
He added that sewerage line and nullahs along with processions' route have been desilted and sludge was disposed off. Sewage accumulated around Imam Bargahs and Masajids has been cleaned and the open manholes have been covered, he maintained.
