ICE arabica coffee futures edged mostly lower early Thursday, with support coming from buying related to index reweighing, while US cocoa rose on speculative buying, traders said. On the screen, the ICE March coffee contract was 0.05 cent lower at $1.3555 at 9:11 am (1411 GMT), dealing from $1.3485 to $1.3590.
The rest traded in a range from down 0.30 cent to up 0.25 cent. ICE March robusta futures was up 0.40 cent at 90 cents per lb by 9:15 am, with no trading range. Cocoa moved mildly higher on speculative-type buying and support from the London market, dealers said. On the electronic platform, the ICE March cocoa contract was up $7 at $2,158 per tonne at 9:17 am, dealing from $2,151 to $2,170. The rest ranged from $9 to $15 stronger.
