The amir of Jamaat-i-Islami, Qazi Hussain Ahmad, has commended President Pervez Musharraf for giving a courageous reply to the US, for the first time, and stressed for materialising his words.
Talking to media persons after a meeting with SSP Lahore, he said that President Musharraf should have given this statement much earlier that if the US stops extending aid to Pakistan, it would seek another ally. "However, now he should materialise his statement" Qazi said. He said that holding of elections is not possible in the current prevailing circumstances. "Therefore, we are asking the political parties ever and anon to boycott the elections".
He urged President Musharraf to tender resignation immediately because fair and free election cannot be held under his overseeing. Earlier, Qazi 'offered Fateha' for the deceased policemen, victims of the suicide bombing.
