Sindh government has advised Central Leader of Awami National Party (ANP), Senator Asfandyar Wali Khan to postpone his visit to Sindh province due to security reasons. ANP provincial President Afrasiab Khattak told reporters that they received the information via provincial government however Asfandyar has no plan to go to Sindh.
The Sindh government informed NWFP government to communicate Asfandyar Wali Khan not to visit Sindh province as he might have security problems in the province. The Party leaders including Asfandyar Wali recently visited Sindh and held big public gatherings and processions, Khattak stated.
Replying to a question regarding holding mass election gathering in the present situation, he said that the election campaign has already extended and at this stage ANP has no plans to arrange big public meetings across NWFP. Such large political gatherings normally take place at the very last days of election campaign, he added.
The death anniversaries of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan (Bacha Khan) and Khan Abdul Wali Khan fall in January and the ANP has a good opportunity for show of strength in present electioneering, by holding a large gatherings at various public places across the province.
But keeping in view the on going security situation of the country, the party has not gone for that so far. The party will commemorate the death anniversaries of the two leaders on January 26.
