Different political parties have nominated 36 candidates for 10 non-Muslim reserved seats of the National Assembly for the up-coming general elections on February 18.
According to an official of the Election Commission, the Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) has nominated nine non-Muslim candidates, highest number followed by the PML-N's eight, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) seven, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) six, MQM four and one each by the PPP-S and ANP.
The minority candidates nominated for 10 non-Muslim reserved seats of National Assembly include Kirshen Bheel, Shakeel Chander, Farid Chand, Darshan, Nelson Azeem, Kamran Micheal and Bhawan Das, representing the PML-N, Poonjo Bheel, Edmonds Valentine and Manwer Lal and Stephen Anjum have been nominated by the MQM while the PML-Q has fielded Roshen Khursheed Bharucha, Akram Maseeh, Kishan Chand Parwani, Chaudhry Haroon Qaiser, Professor Dr Saleem Massey, Mohan Lal, Gulzari Lal Singh, Tariq Javed and Leela alias Kalpana.
Similarly, the MMA has nominated Younas Sohan, Parmishwari Kanwal, Shahid Gulzar, Raja Rajesh Kumar, Heman Das and Pervaiz John while PPP has fielded Micheal Javed, Ramesh Lal, Dr Mahesh Kumar, Dr Khatu Mal, Khalid Gill, Lal Chand and Shabaz Bhatti. Moreover, the ANP has nominated Ravinder Kumar and Jackson Sardar will contest on PPP-S ticket for the up-coming elections.
