SECP okays renaming of KESC

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), in consideration of the application of Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC), has approved change in name of the company as "Karachi Electric Supply Company Limited".
The SECP issued fresh (altered) "certificate of incorporation," bearing number K-0000002/90797 dated January 9. "The Sec. 40(2) of Cos Ord, 1984, requires that the company shall, for a period of one year from the date of issue of certificate by the Registrar, continue to mention its former name along with the new name outside every office or place."
However, the SECP, on the KESC's request, allowed the KESC to mention its former name along with new name only at each advertisement in print media and on each letterhead.
