The Attock Refinery Limited (ARL) in view of Muharramul Haram organised a blood donation camp in league with Attock Hospital Limited (AHL) and Armed Forces Institute of Transfusion (AFIT). More than 350 persons donated blood. The camp was organised at Attock Hospital Morgah on Wednesday.
More than 400 employees of the ARL and their family members got registered in the camp including members of the top management team and their family members. The Chief Medical Officer of the hospital, Dr A K Niazi briefed mediamen about the salient features of the blood donation campaign of the hospital saying that this was not for the first time that AHL has launched blood donation campaign.
"During the earthquake of October 2005, AHL had collected and donated more than 250 pints of blood for the affectees admitted in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and Rawalpindi General Hospital," he said.
He said that today's blood donation would be shifted to AFIT as the AHL has set up its blood bank in AFIT and later on it would be provided to employees and people in case of any emergency.
