The payment of compensation and alternate land to the victims of Lyari Express Way (LEW) was ordered here on Friday by a division bench of Sindh High Court (SHC).
The bench comprising Justice Munib Ahmed Khan and Justice Syed Pir Ali Shah earlier heard counsel for petitioners Hafiz Abdul Saeed and 31 others, residents of Rehmatia Colony and three brothers of Shershah who moved the court alleging that they were deprived of compensation and alternate land.
Pleading pick and choose by CDGK authorities, the counsel said that discrimination between citizens is illegal and against their basic rights. The bench after hearing the sides ordered CDGK and LEW to make payment of compensation and alternate plot to the petitioners by January 29. The bench later adjourned proceedings in the petitions till January 29.
