The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed the Punjab Food Department to distribute wheat quota indiscriminately to the millers complaining against the department of favouritism. The court said the department should maintain equilibrium if it was short of wheat.
The petitioners were Ibrahim, Gorjani, Malik, Wasif, Sona, Al-Mumtaz, Vehari, Tufail, Hasnat, Shan, Al-Ghani, Mubarik, Ali, Pak Millat and Chishtia. The counsels, Ramzan Chaudhry and Shahzad Shaukat told the court that the department was favouring certain group of millers and depriving the petitioners of their due right of wheat quota.
