Tanzania coffee prices firmed at the first auction this year, boosted by robust demand for the beans on offer, traders said on Monday. Tanzania Coffee Board (TCB) said 28,689 60-kg bags were offered for sale, with 27,575 sold.
At the previous auction, held on December 27, 25,433 bags were offered for sale, with 16,279 sold, the board said. Benchmark grade AA fetched $120-$169.00 per 50-kg bag, compared with $109.80-$162.40 per bag at the previous auction.
