Former federal minister and candidate for NA-55 and 56 Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said that the coming parliament would be with very short period because no political party might succeed to get overwhelming majority in the elections to form and run the government and would seek others co-operation for government formation.
Talking to a private TV channel he said that the February 18 elections would not be postponed as major political parties of the country were participating in the election process. He said that PML-Q, PPP, PML-N, ANP, JUI and MQM are contesting the elections and there is no justification for postponing the general polls.
He said that President Pervez Musharraf has time and again clarified that powers would be handed over to the victorious political party. Sheikh Rashid said the people who said that they would not contest under President Musharraf but they are contesting and they have nominated their candidates. All these leadership are hungry of power and don't want to serve the people.
To a question about the role of PPP Co-Chairperson Asif Ali Zardari he said there was nobody who could blame any corruption charges to Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto but there was not a single man in the country to say that Asif Ali Zaradri was a clean man. This is the difference, he added. To another query he said he had served the area and is living among the masses in a slum area. "My all power which I need was through boost my poor people and community."
