Chairman All Pakistan CNG Association, Rawalpindi-Islamabad zone, Sheikh Abid Hayat has asked the Sui Northern Gas Pipe Lines (SNGPL) and the government to immediately restore gas supply to all CNG stations. In a statement issued here Sunday, he warned that if the gas supply was not restored immediately all CNG stations would be closed across the country as protest.
He said that CNG Association had announced to close the CNG stations for 24 hours voluntarily in order to mitigate the grievances of domestic consumers but SNGP ceased the gas supply to CNG stations without any announcement.
Sheikh Abid said that CNG has become a basic requirement of the masses adding the problems of masses must be kept in front while making any decision. He clarified that All Pakistan CNG Association has not given strike call or made decision, which may create problems for the masses.
He further said that concerned institutions were supplying gas to industrial units, which was giving no benefit to masses. He added it had been given in the agreement signed with SNGPL that gas supply would continue to CNG stations whole year while SNGPL would supply gas to industrial institutions for nine months under signed accord. He said masses could get relief from gas load shedding if government implements these agreements.
