The residents of Martin Quarters through your esteemed newspaper, want to draw the attention of the City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal towards the deteriorating condition of the sewerage system in the area.
A large number of residents have been facing hardships due to overflowing gutters in their locality. Several gutters are without cover posing risks to the lives of children.
The residents were unable to arrange even Muharram Majalis and other religious ceremonies as filthy water has entered into their homes due to choking of sewerage lines and breakdown of sewerage system.
It is tragic to note that only two sweepers have been deputed to look after this huge area. Most of the residents say that they had registered their complaints with the Martin Quarters enquiry office about the overflowing gutters but to no avail. We, the residents of the area appeal to the City Nazim to pay a visit to the area and take positive action to redress the grievances of the residents of this area.
