An exhibition featuring the painting of Asma Abbasi will be held from January 30 to February 12 at the Alliance Francis, Islamabad. Abbasi was trained at the Swain School of Design, USA.
She belongs to the princely state, Bhawalpur and her paintings are inspired by the phenomenal wealth of art, history and architectural beauty of the place that was ruled by Nawab Sir Sadiq Abbasi till its accession to Pakistan in 1947.
Abbasi said Bahawalpur culture reflects the rich taste of its rulers. "Through my paintings, I would like to share my feeling and emotions about the most splendid era of the state", she said.
