Punjab University Board has approved a two-year Masters degree programme in 'film and television production', a board meeting revealed. The programme will be akin to the European degree in film and television production.
Students, who have completed 14 years of education in social sciences, Urdu literature and computer sciences are eligible to apply for admission in the said programme.
The MS programme will offer 30 courses on film and television production, including media research, culture and society, Urdu literature and drama.
Dean faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences, Professor Dr Mugheesuddin Sheikh chairing the board meeting said that electronic media in Pakistani had progressed rapidly but "unfortunately, we are not truly depicting our society through films."
