The National Highways and Motorway Police in Lahore have arrested a man posing as a traffic magistrate after being found guilty of confiscating forcibly transport documents from public and private motorists travelling on highways near Qadirabad.
The police said three men in a van were taking money from buses near Qadirabad. Following a tip-off the authorities sent their patrolling officers to catch them. The offenders managed to fox the officers, but later officers Riaz Doger and Ahmad Ali received intelligence that the trio was carrying on with the usual theft near Okara.
The officers then managed to arrest Head Constable Sultan Ahmad, Muhammad Ashraf and Muhammad Wahid and found a 30-bore pistol with 12 bullet rounds and a mobile phone. The police are still investigating the case.
