Pak American Fertiliser Factory (PAFL), in its clarification issued here on Tuesday, said the factory was not closed down due to any "on-going gas crisis in the country," but was closed down under a pre-arrangement entered into between Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) and the company six months prior to the aforesaid closure.
Referring to a news item, "Pak-American Fertiliser Factory closed down," appeared in Daily Business Recorder on January 27, the PAFL said: "This is a part of regular maintenance of the plant. "The factory shall be closed for 18 days as per the agreement. During this period, in addition to maintenance work being carried out, the PAFL shall also implement Phase-I of its plant expansion programme," said the PAFL.-PR
