Caretaker Prime Minister Muhammadmian Soomro and other high ups in the government have been making tall announcements of not sparing the hoarders, blackmarketeers and profiteers who have created lot of problems for the common man.
These announcements were indeed quite appreciative and encouraging. But it is rather deplorable that the authorities concerned have taken no action against the hoarders, profiteers and blackmarketeers who continue to mint money one way or the other. This is no good governance at all.
Furthermore, instead of taking the culprits to task and positively improving the situation, the caretaker Federal Cabinet has decided to revive the Ration Card System. This is no solution to the problems effecting the people at large.
As a matter of fact, any such major decision should have been left to the elected governments which would be in place after February 18 general elections and hoarders, blackmarketeers and profiteers of the essential articles arrested, taken to task under the law and awarded exemplary punishments for once at least.
The hoarders, profiteers and blackmarketeers seem to have good connections in the corridors of power and that is why they are enjoying absolutely free hand. Catch the big fish if you can instead of the small fries.
