Governor Punjab Lieutenant General Khalid Maqbool (Retd) left for Makkah on Friday to perform Umrah, and will remain in Saudi Arabia till February 3. Chief Justice of Lahore High Court (LHC) Syed Zahid Hussain will be Acting Governor in his absence.
At the oath-taking ceremony of the Chief Justice as Acting Governor held at the Governor House here on Friday, the oath was administered by senior judge of Lahore High Court, Justice Mian Muhammad Najm-uz-Zaman.
In the same function, the Acting Governor Punjab administered oath of office to the Acting Chief Justice LHC, Justice Mian Muhammad Najm-uz-Zaman. Former justice Ejaz Nisar, Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, provincial ministers, Chief Secretary Punjab, LHC judges, senior member Board of Revenue, IG Police and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
