Former prime minister and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif has said that the coffin of 'doctrine of necessity' will be thrown into Arabian Sea and all doors to dictatorship will be shut for ever.
He announced that all MNA and MPA candidates of his party will take oath in Lahore on February 06 and after being elected their first priority will be reinstatement of chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and 60 other sacked judges, besides restoration of the Constitution in its original shape.
They will also pledge to take steps against army's rule and work for the supremacy of law and judiciary, Nawaz added. Addressing lawyers of Rawalpindi Bench of Lahore High Court here on Friday, the PMN-N leader said that each and every elected member of the parliament will work as the supporter of the lawyers. He said the dictators now can not enslave the nation.
He alleged that an individual at gunpoint set up courts to suit his interest and deposed judges and imprisoned them. Nawaz criticised the election of President Musharraf through the Election Commission of his choice.
Chairman PML-N, Raja Zafar-ul-Haq, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, Chaudhry Tanveer Khan, former District Nazim Raja Tariq Mahboob Kiyani, President High court Bar Sardar Asmat-ullah, President District Bar Sardar Tariq Masood and presidents of Taxila, Jehlum,Attock, Chakwal and Islamabad bars and a large number of lawyers were present on the occasion.
