Trade Development Authority Punjab, Lahore conducted a meeting of women entrepreneurs of the province with State Bank of Pakistan officials to discuss bank-related issues of businesswomen, and to apprise SBP of non-availability of loans specific to this sector.
Among others, Women Entrepreneurs LCCI chairperson Shamim Akhtar, WCCI president Shehla Ikram, and Kausar Ishaq of Multan Chamber were present on the occasion, according to a press release here on Friday.
Participants observed that in the ongoing process of gender parity in all fields of endeavour the world over, it is vital that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) should replicate this process by recognising women entrepreneurs as a separate sector and devising women entrepreneur-specific loans. They recommended that SBP should conduct studies and devise loaning facilities up to Rs 100,000 without collateral.
