Pakistan Seafood Industries Association (PSIA) has postponed its strike which was to be observed on February 4, 2008 on assurance of the high federal government officials that all the problems being faced by the fish industry have been considered and it is decided that these will be solved very shortly.
This was stated by Sardar Muhammad Hanif Khan, Chairman, Pakistan Seafood Industries Association. He said that we have no intention of pressurising the government but we want early resolution of our problems so that the processors/exporters focus their attention on production and export. He further said that due to continuation of ban on export to EU countries, the processors/exporters are suffering heavily, the fishermen are getting less price of their catch and the country is losing millions of US dollars foreign exchange.-PR
