Information Minister of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Farzana Raja has said that PPP could make the government with the other parties having heavy mandate, in which no PML-Q or religious parties would be included. She said this in a press conference here on Saturday.
She said that Pervez Elahi is presenting himself as a candidate for prime minister in the public. Adding that the caretaker government is showing partiality to this matter. Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain is trying to delay the polls but PPP would not let this happen. She said that holding of elections on schedule are a must to save the country.
She said former prime minister Shaukat Aziz is holding Pervez Elahi responsible for the present wheat crisis. Shaukat Aziz said in a statement that if Pervez Elahi had acted upon my saying then there would be no wheat crisis in Pakistan.
She further said that the four people, whose names are included in the letter written by Benazir, they should be included in the investigation of her assassination. Further saying that UN should investigate the case.
Farzana said Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has not nominated any candidate for prime minister and that the party might decide this after or before the polls. In reply to another question she said that Pakistan Muslim League-Q has taken the nation back to stone age. Adding that Q-League member's wife vote is registered eleven times in the polling list. Government should take notice that people are trying to rig the polls and that they should carry steps to ensure that the elections are free, fair and transparent.
Malik Mukhtar Awan, Khawaja Rizwan Alam and Hanif Lodhe were also present at the press conference. She said that the government has made 200 cases against Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and thousands of workers are still behind the bars.
