Milk sellers warned of action against overcharging

City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal Friday directed officers of Revenue Department to take action against the sale of milk in the city on excessive prices.
While taken strict notice of uncalled for increase in the milk prices he has instructed concerned department to take all necessary measures to ensure sale of milk on rates fixed by the government, said a press release issued by CDGK here.
The officers checked milk prices during surprise raids in various areas and fined shopkeepers with heavy amounts. Milk profiteers would also be sent to jail. The spokesman of City Government has again warned the milk sellers to refrain from selling milk above the prices fixed by the government otherwise they will have to face strict action.
