The lineup of vessels waiting to load sugar in Brazilian ports this week rose to 39 ships from 33 last week, shipping agent Williams said. In a weekly report, Williams said 11 vessels were lined up in the southern port of Santos, up from seven last week.
There were 14 vessels at Maceio, up from 13 one week ago. In Recife port, there were nine vessels waiting, off from 10 last week. The center-south, which accounts for more than 85 percent of national sugar cane output, has completed harvesting. Santos port accounted for 45 percent of the sugar tonnage being loaded in Brazilian ports.
