Board of Management of the Punjab Medical College, Allied and District Headquarters' Hospitals, Faisalabad, has approved funds to the tune of Rs 230.04 million for the purchase of various medical equipment and machinery.
This approval was given during the BoM monthly meeting held here under the Chairmanship of Mian Muhammad Latif.
The meeting approved Rs 211.3 million to the purchase the Electro-Medical equipment, furniture and high power generator for the Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology while Rs 19.166 million was sanctioned to procure the surgical equipment for the Allied and DHQ hospitals.
Reviewing the monthly progress of the Allied and DHQ hospitals, it was informed that during the last month of December as many as 29,103 patients of out door and 9,896 of patient at indoor wards were provided medical treatment facilities in the Allied Hospital while operation of 2,745 patients and 51,907 X rays, ultrasound, CT scan and other laboratory tests ere also carried out during the period in the hospital.
It was told that 28,748 patients at outdoor and 4,663 patients in different wards were provided medical treatment facilities in DHQ hospital during the same period. Project Director FIC Dr Naeem Aslam informed the meeting that the outdoor section of FIC had started from 15th November 2007 and 1,146 heart patients were examined during the one and half month period along with provision of facilities ETT, ECG test.
Chairman BoM Mian Latif praised the performance of the hospitals and expressed satisfaction over progress of the development projects. He said that the Allied Hospital was catering the needs of advance medical treatment of the patients not only belonging to Faisalabad region but also patients from Sargodha region and other adjoining district future development programme should be devised keeping in view the raising number of patients from the other area as well.
Various other relevant issues were also came under discussion during the BoM meeting and necessary decisions were taken for ensuring good governess in the hospitals.
The meeting was also attended by Principal Punjab Medical College Dr Asghar Ali Randhawa, Additional Secretary Health Punjab Javed Rafiq Malik, Deputy Secretary Finance Punjab Ms Afshan Kiran Imtiaz, Medical Superintendent Allied Hospital Dr Captain Khalid Mehmud, members of BoM Mian Madood Akbar, Professor Saddat Ali Zaidi, Dr, Amir Ali Chaudhry, Director Finance, Medical Superintendent of DHQ and FIC and other concerned.
