Some essentials were showing declining trend on the commodities wholesale markets during the week ended on February 2,including Irri 6 Sindh. On Monday fluctuations were marked in Jodia Bazar as well as in grain markets depicting both ways movement.
As far as rapeseed was concerned it depicted downslide, Nawabshahlane at Rs 1650; Mirpurlane inferior type surrendered Rs 25 to Rs 1550, while the other kind was put at Rs 1600. Rapeseed cakes showed same pattern as better type lost Rs 25 to Rs 640, while the other type shed Rs 20 to Rs 650. Gur inferior type retreated by Rs 20 to Rs 2300, while the other type was put at Rs 1900 Cotton cakes with bag retreated, Sindh old type shed Rs 20 to Rs 580 while the other type was put at Rs 550. A solo deal in rice, Irri 6 Sindh shed Rs 10 to Rs 2120 while the other type was marked at Rs 2125.
On Jodia Bazar jute goods twine (per kg) Brown scaled down by Rs 4 to Rs 48, 16x3 CRT/Indus rose by Rs 4 to Rs 48, 8x3 closed up Re 1 to Rs 81 and 40x2 brown scale down by Rs 2 to Rs 44.50. Hessian cloth (per 91.44 meter) 50x9 Thul rose by Rs 75 to Rs 1900, 45x9 rose by same amount to Rs 1900, 45x9 Thul ended higher by Rs 25 to Rs 1750 and 45x8 United scaled higher by Rs 100 to Rs 1650.
On Tuesday on grain markets gram garda Punjab shed Rs 25 to Rs 2900, while the other type was quoted at Rs 3050, gram garda dal inferior type retreated by Rs 50 to Rs 3650, while better type was marked unchanged Rs 3800. Yellow peas Canada rose by Rs 25 to Rs 3000 while other type was marked at Rs 3250, yellow peas dal Canada inferior type was sharply higher by Rs 175 to Rs 3400, while the other type rose by Rs 200 to Rs 2550. Beetle chana I retreated by Rs 25 to Rs 3100 while other type was quoted at Rs 3250. Beetle 50x50 low kind shed Rs 25 to Rs 3000 while the other type did not fluctuate at Rs 3150, dal beetle low quality shed Rs 50 to Rs 3800 while the other type was seen unchanged at Rs 3950.
Somewhat break trading was observed on Wednesday such as in grains urad from Burma was higher by Rs 50 to Rs 1450 and better type was seen up at Rs 1565. Sugar low type gave in Rs 30 to Rs 2250 while the other verity shed Rs 50 to Rs 2300. Khandsari lost sharply by Rs 200 to Rs 3200. Cotton cakes with bag inferior shed Rs 30 to Rs 450, while better type lost same amount to Rs 530. Cottonseed with bag, in Sindh, old low type up Rs 10 to Rs 560, while the other kind shed Rs 20 to Rs 600. Cottonseed cakes with bag Sindh new type shed Rs 10 to Rs 640 while the other type was marked at Rs 650.
In Jodia Bazar kirana items (per 40 kg) white pepper shed Rs 200 to Rs 16,000, black pepper from Singapore rose by Rs 800 to Rs 10,000, black pepper from Ceylon closed higher by Rs 800 to Rs 10,000, black pepper from Brazil up Rs 1300 to Rs 10,800. Mace edged higher by Rs 1000 to Rs 28,000, nutmeg rose by Rs 600 to Rs 9,600, small cardamom up Rs 400 to Rs 28,000 big cardamom quoted at Rs 12,600 and cloves rose by Rs 200 to Rs 15,000.
On Thursday, most of the commodities tended lower on improved supply position, dealers said. On the cereal side, wheat old and new gained Rs 50 to Rs 1600-1615.
On the grams side, gram garda Punjab was up by Rs 25 to Rs 2875-3025, yellow peas Canada lost Rs 50 to Rs 3300-3450, beetle chana No 1 shed Rs 25 Rs 25 to Rs 3075-3225, beetle Chana 50x50 was sharply down by Rs 75 to Rs 3075-3125.
Prices were modestly higher on the rice sector. Irri-9 Sindh was higher by Rs 100 to Rs 3200-3300, Irri-6 Sindh was up by Rs 10 to Rs 3130-2135 and Basmati good type rose by Rs 200 to Rs 300- while the low type maintained the overnight level at Rs 2600.
On Jodia Bazar BANGLADESH TEA (Per kg): Garden pack (original) went up by Rs 8 at Rs 120, Gulab moved upward by Rs 7 at Rs 122, Khushbu rose higher by Rs 9 at Rs 115 and Garden pack/BOP went up by Rs 20 at Rs 120.
INDONESIAN: PFI Good A finished up by Rs 10 at Rs 175, Good A closed higher by Rs 15 at Rs 160, BPI (CTC) Good B moved upward by Rs 10 at Rs 190 and PD (CTC) closed higher by Rs 30 at Rs 160.
TANZANIA: PFI (CTC) edged up by Rs 20 at Rs 165, BPI (CTC) rose higher by Rs 20 at Rs 170 and PD (CTC) finished upward by Rs 20 at Rs 160.
Lacklustre condition was seen on the grain market on Friday as many buyers were busy in Juma prayers.
On Jodia Bazar, PLASTIC MOULDINGS COMPOUNDS (Per lb): HDPE (INJECTION): Sabic 200056 rose up by 25 paisa at Rs 55.25, Mobil 016 was quoted at Rs 55 and Iran went higher by 50 paisa at Rs 54.50.
LDPE: 374 moved upward by Rs 2.25 at Rs 66.50, MG 20 edged higher by Rs 3 at Rs 71 and MG 70 closed up by Rs 4 at Rs 72.
POLYPROPYLENE (TAPE GRADE): India closed higher by 50 paisa at Rs 59.50, Kuwait finished up by 50 paisa at Rs 59.50 and Saudia moved upward by 50 paisa at Rs 59.50.
POLYPROPYLEN (INJECTION GRADE): Saudia closed higher by Re 1 at Rs 59, India moved up by Re 1 at Rs 59 and Kuwait finished upward by Re 1 at Rs 59.
COPOLY: Block went higher by Re 1 at Rs 59 and Randon closed up by Re 1 at Rs 64.
ABS (Per bag): Polylac 707 finished down by Rs 40 at Rs 3,760 and Iran was quoted at Rs 3,750.
On Saturday, Sharp rise was seen in the Masoor prices on the grain market on Saturday as most of the commodities maintained the overnight levels in process of thin business.
On the cereals side, Masoor from Australia and Canada picked up Rs 300 to rs 5700 and dall Mosoor gained rs 400 to Rs 6500-6700 amid subdued business.
On the rice sector, Irri-6 Sindh was up by Rs 5 to Rs 2135-2140 due to tight supply position, they added. Other types maintained the overnight levels.
On Jodia Bazar, DISPERSE DYES (CHINA) (Per lb): Yellow G moved up by Rs 5 at Rs 135.
DISP DYES: Black BB 25kg was quoted at Rs 160, Helitoper 25kg edged upward by Rs 15 at Rs 210, Orange GR moved higher by Rs 10 at Rs 130 and Yellow was quoted at Rs 135.
On Saturday, DISPERSE DYES (CHINA) (Per lb): Yellow G moved up by Rs 5 at Rs 135.
DISP DYES: Black BB 25kg was quoted at Rs 160, Helitoper 25kg edged upward by Rs 15 at Rs 210, Orange GR moved higher by Rs 10 at Rs 130 and Yellow was quoted at Rs 135.
