The Citizens Group on Electoral Process led by former chief justice Saeed uz Zaman Siddiqui will meet Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)Patron Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif this month.
A spokesman of the group on Monday said that group would also undertake two fact-finding missions in Gujrat and Sialkot on February 7 and 8. It has already undertaken fact-finding missions in Quetta, Karachi and Attock. "In Gujrat and Sialkot, the group will interact with district governments, election candidates, district returning officers, the Election Commission and reporters," the spokesman added.
The Citizens Group on Electoral Process, a group of Pakistanis to monitor the election process, has already met political parties, including the Pakistan People's Party and Jamaat Islami.
The group intends to meet major political parties' leaders ahead of the election to gauge each party's perception on the pre-electoral and election atmosphere in the country. The group also plans to undertake a fact-finding mission in Thatha and Badin on February 12.
The group made up of former judiciary, lawyers, reporters, academics, analysts and former civil and military bureaucracy, is monitoring electoral process since December 2006.
