Former Caretaker Prime Minister and chief of National Peoples Party, Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi on Monday called on Caretaker Chief Minister, Sindh former Justice Abdul Qadir Halepota at the Chief Minister House and discussed various important matters.
Halepota informed the NPP chief that all the arrangements have been finalised for holding free, fair and transparent elections on February 18. He said the Police and Rangers have been directed to take ensure strict security measure for polling day, and hoped that the polls would be held peacefully.
Halepota said certain elements were spreading rumours and the political parties should be aware of it. Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi expressed satisfaction on the arrangements made by the government for holding election.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister hosted lunch for the participants of Inter-provincial education conference. Federal Minister for Education Dr Shams Lakhani, provincial education ministers, secretaries etc attended the lunch. Chief Minister told that Sindh has allocated Rs 2500 million for ending illiteracy during the year 2007-08.
