Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) signed a co-operation agreement with federation of Yemen to further intensify interaction between the business communities of both the countries.
Under the agreement, both the federation chambers will exchange visits of trade delegations and market information about the economic development to enhance trade between the two countries and for the expansion of economic co-operation between the enterprises and organisations concerned.
The agreement was signed in Yemen in the presence of Prime Ministers of Pakistan and Yemen, said a FPCCI press release here on Monday. FPCCI president Tanvir Ahmad Sheikh, who is member of the Prime Minister's entourage to Yemen and Saudi Arabia, said that the co-operation agreement between two national chambers of commerce and industry would help enhance trade relations between the two countries.
He was optimistic that the co-operation agreement would enable both the chambers to go a long way in promotion of bilateral trade and economic relations. Highlighting the salient features of the agreement, he said that both the national chambers would jointly open new avenues for promotion of bilateral trade and economic relations and facilitate their members for participation in trade fairs and exhibitions of both the countries.
"Under the agreement both the chambers will have to activate Pakistan-Yemen Joint Business Council to work as a platform to provide marketing access and advice to their members for each other countries," he added. The signing ceremony was attended by elite businessmen of Yemen and Pakistan, including Mian Mohammad Mansha, Iqbal Ibrahim, Rahim Janoo, Tariq Rafi, Amir Riaz, Adnan Sarfraz and Asghar Kanwar.
