The Haq Parast candidates have geared up their election campaign of mass contact in the metropolis as election date draws closer. MQM candidate from PS-116 Sardar Ahmed said on Wednesday that the candidates of opposite political parties needed to show a record of past performance of public service if they wanted to compete with Haq Parast nominees.
He was talking to president of Muslim Gymkhana Siddique Bilwani, and a past president of Okhai Jamaat Suleman Pasha and chairman of All Pakistan Memon Federation Majeed Abdali. MQM candidate from NA-252 Abdul Rashid Godial, NA candidate from Lyari Wasiullahh Lakho, PS candidate Hanif Chotani were also present on the occasion.
Sardar said that it was not easy for opposite candidates to compete with MQM nominees, as far as development work and service to people were concerned.
He said that MQM was the only political party in the country, which has a record of solving the problems of the poor and middle classes. "We do not need any certificate from anybody as the large-scale development work in the entire province speaks of our performance."
He said that Altaf Husain's theme of 'empowerment for all' has reached every nook and corner of the country, and opponents are anticipating their defeat in the elections.
Another MQM candidate from PA-126, Faisal Sabzwari, in his mass contact campaign in various blocks of Gulistan-e-Jauher, said that MQM had never left the people alone in tough times and always rendered unprecedented sacrifices for their cause. He said people outrightly rejected those elements which looted and set ablaze their properties and took every measure to eliminate MQM for ever and killed its workers in extra-judicial 'encounters'.
Another MQM candidate from NA-252 Abdul Rashid Godial, during campaign in PIB Colony and PECHS said that days were over for feudal and privileged class candidates as they never came back to their voters after winning the elections.
He said people would never forget such elements who had looted national wealth during past 60 years and filled their bank accounts abroad. Godial said that MQM had always raised its voice for the people whether it was women's rights bill, provincial autonomy or NFC award, and never compromised on principles.
