The Karachi Port handled 136,042 tonnes cargo including 79,209 tonnes import, 56,833 tonnes export cargo and 3,781 containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday.
The cargo comprised of 83,286 tonnes dry cargo including 57,490 tonnes general cargo; 14,529 tonnes Coal; 5,288 tonnes Canola; 2,746 tonnes Wheat; 3,233 tonnes Cement and 52,756 tonnes oil/liquid cargo.
Nine ships namely St. James Park, Steela Deneb, Kota Ganteng, St. Irene, Jindal Kamla, Pacific Arrow, Apl Brisbane, Sinar Bintan and Annita sailed out to sea during the report period. Six vessels viz Sky Venus, Augusta, Hyundai Stride, Cape Negro, Hyun Jin and Jin Hui are currently at the berths.
Five ships namely Valiant, Kuleli, Formosa Product Cosmos, Sky Venus and Cape Negro expected to sail on Thursday, while two vessels viz Jewel-1 and Frontier Ace expected to sail on Friday.
Two vessels viz Adriatic Wind and Carla due to arrive on Thursday, while seven ships namely Merbabu, Mariella Bottiglieri, YM Inventive, Sp 5-Eric G. Gibson, Red Sea Spirit, Iron Butterfly and Breeze are due to arrive on Friday.
The cargo comprised of 1,981 tonnes Rice; 8,329 tonnes Wheat; 6,940 tonnes Canola Seeds and 25,122 tonnes containerised cargo. Three ships namely MV Nedlloyd Africa, MT Vale and Al-Salam-II sailed out to sea during last 24 hours. Two ships namely MV Maersk Iwoa and ACX Dahlia are expected to sail on Thursday morning.
A total of seven ships namely Rio Gold, African Holcyon, Summer Fortune, Navios Hios, Nordana Mathhilde, Pantanal and Al-Ihsaa carrying Wheat, General Cargo and Containers are currently at the outer anchorage.
Five vessels viz MV Maersk Iwoa, Dahlia, Al-Salam-II, Nepheli and Lake Globe were occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Rice, Wheat and Canola Seeds respectively during last 24 hours. Container vessel Al-Ishaa due to take berth at Qasim International Container Terminal on Thursday. Seven vessels viz Nagotiator, Gemini, Sea Sky, Apl Alexandrite, CGM Rose, Maersk Novazzano and Blumenau carrying Edible Oil, Furnace Oil, Containers and Iron Ore due to arrive.
