The net loss of Karachi Electric Supply Company Limited (KESC) has increased to Rs 6.275 billion in six months period ended December 31, 2007 as compared to a net loss of Rs 5.547 billion in the corresponding period a year back.
The company's loss per share stood at Rs 0.48 in the period under review against Rs 0.43 in the same period previously. According to the financial results, the company's total revenue increased to Rs 26.175 billion in the six months period in 2007 as compared to Rs 22.439 billion in the same period in 2006.
On the other hand, the company's expenditure surged to Rs 25.551 billion in this period against Rs 21.561 billion in the same period previously. The company's operating loss stood at Rs 5.208 billion against Rs 4.928 billion a year back.
The loss before tax of KESC increased to Rs 6.143 billion in the half year period in 2007 against a loss before tax of Rs 5.433 billion in the same period in 2006.
