The federal cabinet, which met with caretaker Prime Minister Muhammedmian Soomro in the chair on Saturday, approved Anti-Dumping Duties (amendment) Ordinance 2008, empowering the federal government to decide whether or not to impose anti-dumping duties on a case determined by the National Tariff Commission (NTC).
The new amendment also provides that the appellant tribunal to hear the anti-dumping cases should be headed by a serving or a retired judge of the Supreme Court. The cabinet also urged the people to participate fully in the general elections to be held on February 18, and assured them of the government's firm resolve to maintain law and order at all costs for peaceful and orderly polling.
