Some unknown persons here gunned down a sub-inspector of police on Sunday afternoon. When contacted, DIG (Operations) Rehmatullah Niazi told PPI that SI Shahid, who was serving with CID, was going home after his duty. When he reached Brewery Road, some unknown persons fired at him from the back.
Shahid died on the spot. The killers made good their escape from the scene. Police reached the site and removed his body to his house, DIG added.
