The University of Sindh and Intel Pakistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a collaborative relationship for the promotion of computer literacy for the effective use of the computer technology by teachers and students.
The MoU was signed by Professor Dr Rafia Ahmed Sheikh Pro-Vice Chancellor on behalf of Vice Chancellor University of Sindh and Syed Ashar Hussain Zaidi Country Manager of Intel Pakistan on behalf of its organisation.
Under the MoU University of Sindh and Intel Pakistan would collaborate to promote technology aided learning in the education environment and teach the Intel Teach pre-service programme as part of the Instructional Technology course at the University to B.Ed and M.Ed students.
According the MoU 1000 student and teachers would be trained in the current year and a focal person would be nominated by the University from within its staff to co-ordinate with Intel nominated representative at all times, to maintain database of all faculty members and students. In this connection separate well-maintained computer laboratories with latest computers and software and hardware for conduct of the programmes would be established to ensure trainings for the B.Ed and M.Ed students at the Campus.
The University will provide adequate opportunity to representatives of Intel to interact with faculty members and students for guidance and training. The refresher workshops would also be organised for the teachers and students of the Faculty of Education of the University.
