The United States Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, co-chair of the Congressional Pakistan Caucus met patron of PML-N Mian Nawaz Sharif on Monday and discussed election related matters. Sources in the PML-N told Business Recorder that the US Senator informed Nawaz Sharif that the US was monitoring elections in Pakistan and wanted democracy.
Matters pertaining to post election situation also came under discussion. Nawaz apprised the US Senator about pre-poll rigging made by the rivals with the support of sitting government, sources said. She also discussed other matters of mutual interest. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz president Shahbaz Sharif was also present during the meeting.
