The percentage of casting of vote at different city's polling stations remained at 22 to 24 percent, while very thin appearance of male and female voters was witnessed at polling stations.
Great enthusiasm was witnessed among the voters in rural areas where the voters were reaching voluntarily at polling stations for casting the vote in favour of their candidates. The ratio of casting of votes in rural areas is much higher as compared to urban area of Sialkot.
However, the supporters of the candidates belonging to different political parties were providing pick and drop facility to the voters at polling stations and making adequate efforts for bringing maximum voters at polling stations.
In order to facilitate voters, the political parties have made necessary arrangements for providing voters numbers and information pertaining to their polling stations.
The candidates contesting on National and Provincial Assembly seats have established their camps close to polling stations for extending guidance to the voters in rural and urban areas of the district. It was also witnessed that contests along with the supporters are monitoring the election process in their respective constituency.
It may be mentioned that 28 candidates on five NA and 78 candidates on 11 PA seats are contesting in Sialkot district. As many as 1,312 polling stations and 3,271 polling booths have been set up in Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur and Sambrial Tehsils of the district. There are 1.475 million registered voters, out of which 0.667 million are female registered voters in the district.
Some prominent and vocal political personalities like NA Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain (PML-Q), PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Khawaja Muhammad Asif of PML-N and Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan of PPP were in the contest.
Meanwhile, voters have expressed their satisfaction on the polling arrangements made by the Election Commission of Pakistan and security arrangements made by the district administration.
