A seminar on 'Industrial needs and role of NAVTEC' was held under the auspices of Business Industry Promotion Association of Pakistan (BIPAP) here on Tuesday. Speakers in the moot unanimously viewed that parties that had succeeded in recent elections should emphasise promotion of education and technical education in their manifestos.
The Regional Director NAVTEC, Abid Javed averred that 50 percent of Pakistani youth were unemployed. He informed the participants that NAVTEC was providing training in eight sectors of the economy including Construction; Hotel Industry; Tourism; Dairy & Livestock, Women Specialised Skills and IT and Telecommunications.
He further told that NAVTEC has imparted 216 courses in public sector institutions so far besides providing Rs 2, 000 scholarship for computerised training. The Secretary General, BIPAP, Farooq Awan, Vice Chairman, Nadim Afzal and a large number of people from different professionals were present at the occasion.
