The Tribunal of Inquiry, headed by Justice Dr Ghous Muhammad, on Saturday examined an expert at firearms and adjourned further proceedings till February 28.
Inspector Mahar Ali, Incharge of Forensic Science Laboratory of Sindh police, claimed to be expert at firearms, deposed as prosecution witness (PW) before the tribunal probing into twin blast of October 18 in a rally of PPPP which claimed over 140 lives and left several hundred injured.
The PW told the tribunal that he examined seven vehicles, damaged in the incident, including custom-built bullet-proof main float of PPPP, three police mobiles and three private vehicles.
He confirmed that the blast took place on the left flank of the rally and that the main float had more than 250 marks of pellets hitting it. Some pierced the heavy metal body while most of the pellets were either found stuck in the body armour and most had probably bounced off after hitting the armour, he deposed.
The tribunal, after recording his statement, adjourned further proceedings till February 28 in anticipation of orders from High Court of Sindh (SHC) in a petition filed by PPPP leader Qaim Ali Shah challenging the Tribunal of Inquiry.
