Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister former Justice Abdul Qadir Halepota said Saturday the provincial government set a record by holding free, fair and transparent elections. Chairing a high level meeting he said the law and order in the province is under control.
While police, rangers and law enforcing organisations performed their duties with all satisfaction on the occasion of elections for which they are paid tributes.
The meeting was attended, among others, by Home Minister Brigadier Akhtar Zamin (Retd), Chief Secretary Fazlur Rehman, Secretary Home Arif Khan, IG Sindh Azhar Farooqui, CCPO Karachi Niaz Ahmed Siddiqi besides representatives of law enforcing organisations.
The Chief Minister said all the political parties have accepted the election results and hoped that all of them would prove themselves accommodative. He thanked Allah that the electoral process passed off impartially and in a peaceful atmosphere for which credit goes to President Pervez Musharraf. Justice Halepota directed the police to keep a strict watch on law and order in the Province and take action against criminal elements.
