The government has appointed Muhammad Nawaz Chaudhry as the country's ambassador to Serbia. Presently serving as ambassador to Myanmar since March 2004, Nawaz Chaudhry holds Masters degree in English literature. He joined Foreign Service in 1978 and held various diplomatic assignments in Tehran (1983-87), Jeddah (1989-93), Abu Dhabi (1993-96) and Riyadh (1999-2001).
He also served as Consul General of Pakistan in Jeddah from 2001 to 2002. He also held duties at the Headquarters as Section Officer (1979-83), Director (1987-89 and 1996-99) and Director General (2002-04).
