It is good to note that while electing their representatives to the National and Provincial Assemblies in the general elections, the people have by and large voted for the forces who are keen and committed to move forward and onwards and rejected the retrogressive extremists and militant forces.
A glance at the results of the winning political parties is more than enough to convince anyone that the people have rejected the exploitation of our religion Islam in any manner and elected those who are moderate, forward looking and take them onwards on the road of progress, development and prosperity through economic growth.
This will also send a message of moderation to the international community which has been expressing concern regarding upsurge of extremism, militancy and terrorism in Pakistan.
They may or may not agree with the thinking of President Pervez Musharraf, they have made it abundantly clear that they want to carry Pakistan and its people forward and onwards through positive approach and constructive thinking and actions on the road of progress, prosperity and development which will ensure a brighter future for Pakistan. All this indeed augurs well for the socio-economic uplift of the people at large and must be duly appreciated and welcomed by all.
