Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) and Mutahidda Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) have agreed to carry on dialogue process for the formation of a coalition government in Balochistan.
President PML-Q Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain called on the central leader of MMA Maulana Muhammad Khan Shirani here at the Parliament Lodges and discussed with him the formation of a coalition government in the province.
Talking to the media after the meeting, the PML-Q President said his party believed in consultation process and we would take all the like-minded political parties along.
"Contrary to other parties, we don not believe in muscle power and rather my party believes in reconciliation policy. We would resolve all the issues through dialogue process so as the avenues of co-operation are explored and mutual faith is fortified," he said.
Shujaat said his party had already emphasised resolve to sit on opposition benches in the National Assembly and would play a proactive role to protect the national interest.
"We have decided to play a positive role as opposition and would support any legislation in larger public interest. However, we would also oppose any step which aims at jeopardising the interest of the masses," he said adding that his party would not hamper the government formation process.
He said his party and the MMA leaders had discussed the formation of government in Balochistan and MMA leader Shirani wanted to take his party colleagues into confidence over the issue.
Shujaat said his party would nominate its parliamentary leader in Balochistan Assembly in a few days. Shirani told the newsmen that politics is a consultative process and his party believed in forming a future strategy rather than focussing on the past events. He said the PML leader has expressed positive and constructive views and the MMA would take any decision in larger national and public interest.
"Our talks are in initial stages and the MMA had not taken any decision on Chief Ministership. The PML has also not nominated its parliamentary leader," he said adding that the talks between the two parties would continue. Secretary General PML-Q Mushahid Hussain Sayed, former Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim and Maulana Abdul Wasey were also present on the occasion.
