Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday said that the Pakistan people's Party and JUI-F had reached an agreement in principle to form the government of national consensus in the centre, Aaj TV reported on late Saturday night.
Talking to journalists at Zardari House after holding talks with PPP's co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, the Maulana said that both parties had two rounds of negotiations so far and they agreed to continue the process to finalise the pact, TV channel added. "We want to be a part of a national government that ensures implementation of the Constitution in its own true spirit," JUI-F chief said.
