Corps Commander Lieutenant General Muhammad Masood Aslam visited Field Firing Ranges Nowshwera and witnessed the troops engaged in field training exercise on Saturday, said an ISPR press release. On arrival at the firing ranges, General Officer Commanding Major General Ghulam Dastagir received Corps Commander.
He was given a detailed briefing on the concept and conduct of the exercise, which were aimed at practising troops in simulated battlefield environments with live firing of various weapons systems. Lieutenant General Muhammad Masood Aslam appreciated the concept, planning and conduct of exercise and commended the skills as well as firing standards of troops.
The Corps Commander said that the importance of firing has been correctly realised, for firing remains the single most essential component of training. Of utmost significance in today's combat exercise is the concept of conducting firing practices in a realistic tactical situation.
