The Industrial Productivity Centre (IPC) of the National Productivity Organisation (NPO) will play a major role in promoting best practice in local industry, said Sajeel, best practice officer of the IPC. He was addressing a session held at canal campus of The University of Faisalabad (TUF) here on Saturday on energy audit.
The session was jointly organised by the IPC and Textile Engineering Department of The University of Faisalabad. He said that NPO has already established Industrial Productivity Centre to (IPC) at the University of Faisalabad, Canal Campus, and is fully functional under the supervision of Sajeel Siddiq and Dr Nabeel Amin, Head Textile Engineering & Apparel Technology Departments.
The main purpose of this program is to equip the students with the latest productivity improvement tools and techniques. The NPO has developed institutional network throughout Pakistan with more than 60 institutions, which includes chambers of commerce, leading universities of the country and sectoral associations.

He said the National Productivity Organisation would also organise a conference here on April 4, 2008 for the benefit of the local industry and students of this university. These activities would help in developing close relationship between academia and industry in addition to promoting best practices in local industry, he added.
He said the IPC would also take measures to implement best practices in textile industry by involving final year students of the University of Faisalabad under the supervision of Anwarul Haq, Head Benchmarking Service of Pakistan, Industrial Productivity Organisation (IPO), NPO, Islamabad.
He thanked Dr Nabeel Amin, head, Textile Engineering & Apparel Technology Departments for making arrangements for the session. The participants of the session also appreciated the thought-provoking lectures and presentations of Asad Mahmood and Sheikh Ashfaq, project in-charge.
