The Women Workers Helpline (WWH) met on Saturday to air concern over the increasing prices of essential commodities. The meeting chaired by Helpline Chairperson Azra Shaad drew Bushra Khaliq, Riffat Maqsood, Munu Begum, Shahnaz Akhter, Areeqa Munir, Asma Aslam, Jamila Begum, Tahira, Ereka Muneer, Razia Ansari, Rukhsana Naz and Shameem Aslam.
The participants talked about the rising prices, saying it was becoming hard for working women to make budgets of their kitchen. They also discussed unemployment and rising suicides among the youth. They also discussed hunger and starvation, crime and house rents and transport fares. The meeting then demanded that the government quit and hand over power to the elected representatives.
